The Forum’s Website Accessibility Policy
Commitment to Accessibility
The Forum is committed to supporting the inclusion of people living with disabilities, both episodic and otherwise. An important part of inclusion in today’s increasingly digital world is digital inclusion. Therefore, The Forum’s website has been designed to be accessible to the broadest possible audience.
Accessibility Standards
This website is Web Accessibility Content Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Compliant to Level AA. Web content can be accessed using keyboard only options and ALT-text has been provided for relevant images. Colour contrast has been carefully selected and the website uses CSS in order to separate content from display and to facilitate viewing the site through assistive technologies or in high contract mode. As well, where possible, captions and transcripts have been provided for videos hosted on this website.
Accessibility of Our Documents Library
The “Document Library” section of our website includes many documents on topics of relevance to The Forum’s work. The file formats of documents in our library include PDF, Word and PowerPoint documents. Many of the existing documents in the library will be machine readable but some, and in particular older PDFs and PowerPoint documents, may be missing some accessibility features. Should you encounter accessibility issues with any of our documents, please contact us at info@hivandrehab.ca for assistance. Where possible, we will endeavour to provide the needed document in an accessible format. Moving forward, The Forum will be working to ensure the accessibility of all of our electronic documents right from the start through the development of in-house accessibility authoring processes.
